Encouraging
adolescents to become connected with their community by helping
them to develop responsible attitudes and a strong commitment is
the objective of this program. With over twenty non-profit
agency work sites available throughout Dunn County, adolescents
are able to meet their court ordered community service
requirements and give back to the community. The youth also gain
a sense of accomplishment and are able to build a
base for future job reference and placement.
Hours
completed are reported to the county Social Worker and courts on
a monthly basis.

We are always looking to increase work site opportunities for
the youth in this program. If you are a non-profit,
governmental, or social service agency that could benefit from
volunteer help, while also providing the
youth in our community a great learning experience, you are a
perfect candidate for becoming an on-going volunteer work site!
Also, in recognizing that Dunn County is an area rich in
community activities, each year we collaborate with other
community agencies and groups to provide opportunities for youth
to work at one-time work events. These opportunities may
include, but are not limited to, events such as spring/fall
clean-ups, fairs, festivals, sporting events or competitions,
dinners, painting projects, …etc. This helps to raise the
youths’ awareness of and interest in the community and
increases their chances of connecting with positive people.
Positive Alternatives Inc. staff is responsible for the
supervision of community service youth at these events.
Please contact: Sky Flanders, Program Coordinator, at Positive Alternatives, Inc. at
(715) 235-9552 if you are interested in becoming an on-going
work site or hosting a one-time work event; or if you have
information to pass along regarding upcoming one-time work
events in Dunn County.
