Day Supervision is a unique program

school day youth will participate in programming outlined within
the Alpha House Group Home. This will include academic
study/ homework time, independent living skills, and 1:1
counseling opportunities. Evening and weekend hours, youth
will also following the daily group home programming along with
any requirements of their social worker (i.e.: community service,

After school groups are designed as an
interactive learning experience for youth to target specific
issues. Youth can be County Worker or Court referred to
the programs. Some schools will allow youth who are on an
Individual Education Plan to receive school credit for group
attendance.
Groups include:
Corrective Thinking: This group is founded
upon the understanding that an individual develops behavior
patterns, both positive and negative, to explain, support and
validate their worldview. The basic principle is supported
by the findings of numerous social and psychological
studies. The goal is for the youth to be able to identify
thinking barriers and replace them with responsible thinking
patterns. The program teaches youth 'how to think' not 'what
to think.' We empower them to creatively solve future
problems on their own and they become less dependent, more apt
to succeed and more likely to actually be helpful to others.
Positive Relationships: Our lives revolve around
the relationships we form. These relationships begin at
home and move into the community as we grow. The Positive
Relationships Program is a way for youth to identify challenges
in relationships and ways to overcome these obstacles. The
youth will explore the many types of relationships teenagers may
have and conflicts that may occur. Much of the focus will
be on family obstacles that may stem from parent-teen conflicts.
The teen years bring on some of the most difficult challenges
for families.
Social Issues - This Program discusses issues that
youth deal with on a daily basis. Some of the topics
discussed are : peer pressure, body image and self-esteem,
stress, diversity, values, conflict resolution and problem
solving, dating and relationships. The group is a way for
developing the youth's perception of society.
Independent Living- This Program discusses different
types of situations youth may encounter while living on their
own. Topics discussed include: resume writing, employment
opportunities, appointment making, interviewing, apartment
hunting, meal menus, budgeting and vehicle purchasing.
Independent Living is provided to assists the youth in
flourishing in the adult world.
Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction (AODA)- The AODA
Group discusses the different types of illegal substances and
the damages/effects of using the drugs. Some of the topics
discussed are : drug dependence, denial, alcohol, cannabis,
amphetamines/methamphetamines, cocaine, heroin, tobacco,
steroids and many more. The youth are exposed to real life
stories and examples of the damages of the drugs by guest
speakers, personal stories and Wisconsin County Drug Prevention
Awareness videos.

School quarters.
