Dunn County Juvenile Restorative Justice Program
Restorative justice is a victim sensitive approach of
bringing together victims of crime and the juvenile
offender, to begin the healing process by promoting positive
closure on a hurtful event. Victim/offender mediation
and conferencing bring the victim, offender, and others
affected by a crime together in a face to face meeting
facilitated by a trained mediator. This allows the
victim to actively participate in the criminal justice
process and deal with the psychological trauma caused by a
crime. The program also provides an opportunity for
the juvenile offender to make amends and learn the impact
the crimes has had on the victim and the community.
