Running Away is a Symptom |
 |
Running away is not a crime...When youth
resort to running away they are typically scared,
confused and do not know where to go to get the
help they need.
According to the national Runaway
Switchboard, youth run for several reasons, with
the number one being family conflict.
Teen Care's goal is to divert youth from
entering the social service system whenever
possible.
Teen Care aims to encourage youth to stay
off the streets whereby avoiding drugs and
alcohol abuse, unprotected sex, delinquent
activity and other maladaptive behaviors that
often accompany life on the streets.
Through individual and family
counseling, Teen Care offers youth and families
the opportunity to problem solve and practice
healthy communication patterns.
