Meet Sums

How long have you worked at Positive Alternatives?

September 2025

Where are you from?

Kathmandu, Nepal

What drew you to working in this field?

I have always been interested in learning about the brain and helping people who struggle with their mental health. With psychology as my major field of study, I have always been passionate about helping young people navigate challenges and build resilience. That is what drew me to this position at PA as well.

What is your educational background?

B.S. in Psychology

What is your favorite thing about working with youth and families?

Youth are very lively, and they have so much energy and growth within them. It is so amazing to see them flourish and live up to their full potential. To be a part of that journey and be able to contribute in whatever way I can sounds amazing to me. I also really value being able to listen, provide support, and then witness positive changes, even small ones, that can make a big difference in their daily lives. I have worked with youth before, and one thing that opens them up most is fun little icebreaker games.
